Guisborough Market
There’s been a market in Guisborough for over 600 years, and it’s still going strong every Thursday and Saturday on the High Street, from 9am to 5pm, right through the year.
It’s the traditional kind — stalls setting up along the street, a bit of everything to browse, and that easy back-and-forth with traders you don’t get anywhere else. Wander down for one thing and you’ll likely come back with three, having stopped to chat with a few familiar faces on the way.
The Market Cross has stood at the head of the street for centuries, marking the very spot where Guisborough’s markets and fairs have always been held — so when you’re shopping here, you’re carrying on something the town has done for generations. Whether you’re after a genuine bargain, something for the table, or just a reason to be out and about in town, it’s well worth making a Thursday or a Saturday morning of it.
